HEALTHCARE INDIA REPORT (OCTOBER 2018)

“Growth in life expectancy is going to put tremendous pressure on our healthcare industry with shortfalls experienced across the number of hospitals doctors and nurses. And with increasing life expectancy these numbers will only keep growing. The only viable solution will be the use of technology and more specifically data driven healthtech solutions that will aid in improving current efficiencies and make primary health care more accessible and affordable. Its heartening to see how many start-ups and private health service providers are rising to tackle large public problems and finding frugal yet innovative solutions that tackle quality access and affordability for primary health care with specific areas of focus - be it working with hospitals in building their digital care capabilities use of digital technology in making home healthcare services more viable and the use of AI in bridging gaps or improving efficiencies. However the big challenge for health-tech companies today is the trust and backing of doctors in adopting the use and implementation of the new innovations being offered by digital technology. The healthcare sector in India is set for positive changes across the healthcare sector that will benefit patients in the years ahead.“
